![]() ![]() The response I've recieved from the mods here is that smart sync is supposed to function this way and it is the fault of users for expecting to be able to use typical save as, export, open file. So as I've said no real users want smart sync to function this way and I have not been able to find any acceptable solution on any forums for this problem. And to make it worse, You have to wait for dropbox to finish downloading whatever it believes you want to be made local before you can set it back to online only. It is very frustrating to have to go in and constantly set folders and files back to online only over and over again just because you wanted to browse that location in finder. The problem is that whenever an application opens up a finder gui to browse files and begins previewing thumbnails and file metadata, Dropbox begins downloading files in those folder directories that had previously been designated as online only via smart sync.įrom what I've seen on these foums, I am not the only person to have this promblem ( and yes it is a problem) this is not how any real user wants smart sync to behave. Īnd also over on the dropbox reddit but I still haven't found an acceptable solution I 've posted this issue before in this thread.
